The first movie "Boudu Saved from Drowning" was made in 1932, directed by Jean Renoir who wrote film's screenplay, from the play of René Fauchois. In 1986 film was remade for American audience, and in 2005 - another remake in France.

Plot: Spring night Christian art gallery owner saves life the homeless Boudu, who had attempted to drown himself before his eyes. Becoming a hero in spite of himself, he gave unlucky suicide home — just for a couple of hours to the poor guy to came round a bit. But an unscheduled appearance Boudu flips upside down life of Christian, mentally unbalanced wife Isolda and his mistress Caroly. Who is he - an idiot or genius?
